Spring Home Tweak: Rhubarb Bouquet

Thursday, March 30, 2017

Earlier this week I popped by a friend’s flat for a cup of coffee. When I entered, in the centre of the kitchen table there was a beautifully vibrant rhubarb leaves bouquet, standing casually in a glass vase. Yes, the vegetable! I don’t know if it was the grandness of its size or the beautiful mix of deep pink and vivid green hue, but as soon as I left her place, I marched straight to a farmers' market and picked up a rhubarb bouquet for myself.

Try it, it looks amazing and it’s very eye catching too for anyone who pops by! Ah, the little things in life...

P.S: Also, eucalyptus bouquet and Easter carrot bundle.

Museum Workout

Now we are talking! This is definitely the type of workout I can 100% be on board with!

Meet world-class art and sweaty aerobics class in one:) Since early February, The Met offers a 45-minute morning workout throughout the museum (yes, the actual museum) in the company of Monica Bill Barnes and Anna Bass.

The class is accompanied by a score of disco and Motown hits, and of course the most amazing art there is. The creator of the routine, Maira Kalman said: 'when we work out in nature, rather than trying to understand everything we see, we just observe. The implication was that there might be a benefit in taking that same approach to art.'

And it worked. Just imagine squatting in front of John Singer Sargent’s 'Portrait of Madame X' or balancing on one leg before Henry VIII’s rigid armor, or even lying on the floor next to Harriet Whitney Frishmuth’s 'The Vine'.

Incredible, isn’t it?

P.S: The metropolitan bicycle-ride with a bit of style.
P.P.S: A sassy GIVEAWAY is coming up next!

Fancy a little giggle? Andrius Burba loves cats so much that he created a whole series featuring cats shot from below to give a new and fun perspective on those rather cheeky rascals. The end result is hilarious, isn't it? :)

P.S: Also this.
P.P.S: Plus, that.

How To Find Your Go-To Lippy Colour

Fancy finding that perfect everyday lipstick hue that looks foxy and makes you feel awesome in your own skin?

Yup, I'm with you on that:) Actually, I promised myself, that this spring I'll finally discover the 'it' lippy for me. Fancy knowing how I'm about to make this happen? Well, by using Hannah's super smart fingertips trick.

Here is how it goes:

Next time you're shopping for lipstick, 'grab three lipstick shades you like and apply one shade to your index finger, one to your middle finger, and one to your ring finger. If it's a nude, try and go for one close to your natural lip colour, one darker and one lighter. Then simply hold each fingertip up to your mouth to measure!'

Hannah also pointed out that while you're doing this little experiment, it's worth holding the colours against your eyes too, as certain lipstick shades can really bring out the colour of your eyes in the most beautiful way.

Are you game? Let's go...

P.S: And this super nifty hostess bathroom prep secret.
P.P.S: Plus, this very French reading list that I adore:)

The Prettiest Way To Display Cut Flowers

Top tip: if you happen to own one of those giant-tall-glass-jar-like vases, instead of going with the traditional floral display, try arranging a few freshly cut spring blooms inside, like hyacinths or tulips, for that unique floral look.

Doesn't it look pretty?

P.S: Flotsam
P.P.S: Fresh flowers for happy life.

When Life Gives You Lemons...

Monday, March 27, 2017

...you make a cake:) Yes, I mean literally! This beauty you're looking at above, is our first (ever!) home-grown lemon! It might have taken a year for it to actually fully ripe, but it was worth the wait! So now I'm off to make a lemon cake, brew myself a fresh cup of coffee and just for a short minute, gloat in my lemon-growing-glory:)

Ah, the little things in life...

P.S: This is how it looked about nine months ago.
P.P.S: Sunshine in a pot.
